The festival

July 1 – August 25
 

The VR Arles Festival, created jointly by BNP Paribas, Les Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles and Fisheye in 2016, showcases a curated collection of innovating interactive and immersive experiences from all over the world. Following the success of its past editions the show will be back in 2019, running from July 1st to August 25th 2019 at couvent Saint-Césaire in Arles.

During the opening week of the 50th anniversary of the Rencontres d’Arles, a jury multidisciplinary team chaired by Charlotte Rampling awarded four rewards : 
>  Fictions Prize : 7 Lives by Charles Ayats, Sabrina Calvo et Jan Kounen
>  Versions Prize : Traveling While Black by Roger Ross Williams, Ayesha Nadarajah, Felix Lajeunesse, Paul Raphaël
> Visions Prize : HanaHana: Multi-Bloom by the artist Mélodie Mousset
> Jury Prize : RE-ANIMATED by Jakob Kudsk SteensenThe writing Residency for VR, developed in collaboration with the French Institute will host participants in Arles from August 26th to August 31st.
