The festival

July 1 – August 25
The VR Arles Festival, created jointly by BNP Paribas, Les Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles and Fisheye in 2016, showcases a curated collection of innovating interactive and immersive experiences from all over the world. Following the success of its past editions the show will be back in 2019, running from July 1st to August 25th 2019 at couvent Saint-Césaire in Arles.
The VR Arles Festival is honored to have awarded Treehugger: Wawona by London-based collective Marshmallow Laser Feast and Dinner Party by filmmaker Angel Manuel Soto in 2018. In 2019 a grant will be given to the winner of the Best VR film award during the opening week of the festival (July 1st – July 7th). The lineup will be composed of three competitive sections: Fiction, Documentary, Art as well as an out-of-competition program dedicated to young audiences.
The writing Residency for VR, developed in collaboration with the French Institute will host participants in Arles from August 26th to August 31st.
